Purity Ring

I've had my purity ring for, oh, about two or three years now.  I love it!  It's simple, but I find it beautiful.

More than that, though, it's meaning is so special to me. <3

I have lost misplaced my ring...er, numerous times.  I could tell a bunch of stories...Ha!  But, so far, I, or other people, have always been able to find it again.  And when I meet 'the one' I intend to tell him how much my little ring went through.  Hehe ;)

I saw these really neat photos on Eldarwen's blog of her purity ring and wanted to kinda try it myself.  I guess you could say she inspired me. :)  Anyway, I love how they turned out and wanted to share them with you all.  One is even set as my laptop screen saver at this moment.

What do you think?

Hope everybody has a great week!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I had a lot of fun this week! :)  I took most of my photos outside, and it was very rainy this week, so you'll see random raindrops in like 4 out of 5 of my pictures.  Hehe ;)

1.

{reflection}
I really like how this one turned out.

2.

{guess what this is}
If you guessed Christmas lights then you are correct.  They're hanging along the fence in my backyard.  In April. ;)  But really, when you're out there at night with a fire going, the lights are quite nice.

3.

{what's inside}
What's inside a donut hole?  Ha!

4.

{playtime}
We recently put up a tire swing in our backyard, and it is so much fun!  My big, strong, manly brother, Zach, (lol) can push me really high. ;)  Super fun!

5.
{lawn & garden}
I seriously forgot we had this flower in our yard, and today I was out there taking some photos and spotted it.  (It had just rained and I was in my barefeet, by the way.)  I was like, "Oh!  Photo op!" and jonted over there to take photos.  I really like how they turned out. :)

Happy Easter Sunday everyone!  We serve a risen Savior! :)

Me? A nursing student?

Yesterday was my first day of nursing home clinicals for school.  It was such an...I don't know, almost indescribable day.  I was experiencing a small taste of what I could be doing.  Of who I could be.  Better yet, I loved it!  And I love that I loved it because through this whole process of college and settling on nursing has left me a little nervous and frazzled.

Why, you ask?  Well, ever since I was a little girl I'd wanted to be a teacher.  It was kinda my dream.  A couple years ago, my mom had surgery and I was the one who took care of putting ointment and bandages on her stitches.  That was the first time nursing even came to mind.

A few months before my first college semester I did a complete 360.  I didn't want to be a teacher anymore.  I felt the Lord calling me to something else.  Nursing maybe?

I started my nursing courses only a couple months later and still wasn't completely sure that it was for me.  I even had the 'what am I doing here?' feeling a few times during class.

But, you know what, God is faithful.  By the time I started my second semester of nursing, I knew in my heart that this was what I was supposed to be doing.  And now it is even more confirmed.

Here's me in my scrubs!  Wearing these were one of my favorite parts of the day. ;)

Haha!  Daddy had me pose like this.

I'm still not 100% on what I'd like to do once I'm a certified nurse.  There's so many options.  But you know what, that's ok.  I'm going to follow the One who does know. :)

P.S. My computer is back up and running so my watermark is back!  Hooray! *happy dance* :)

Soul Surfer

Has anyone seen "Soul Surfer" yet?  I went to see it with my church youth group Sunday night.

It was such a great movie!  Really amazing!  But, when I think about Bethany's story...her life, one word comes to mind: inspiring.  Completely inspiring.

This is the real Bethany Hamilton and the girl that played her in the movie, Anna Sophia Robb.

"I don't need easy.  I just need possible."

"I think that if I can help people find hope in God, then that was worth losing my arm for."

"I believe in God.  I don't mean I believe in Him like a person might believe in, say, gravity or the sun coming up in the morning.  Those are just facts that don't mean anything.  I mean I REALLY believe in God."
P.S. Not my photos.

To: My Amazing Sister From: Me

I missed Annie's birthday because of our technology break, but I thought better late than never, right?  She turned 14 on April 2nd.

I can't believe it!  She's growing up so fast!

Dear Annie,
Happy (late) birthday to you!  I hope the day was fabulous for you! :)

We have almost nothing in common, other than being sisters of course.  You like being outside, I prefer indoors.  You'd eat meat every day of the week, I'd rather stick with chocolate.  You're sporty and active, me...not so much.  We're complete opposites, yet best friends.  How cool is that! :)

I'm looking up to you now.  I guess that means I'm short.  Hehe ;)  You're so tall and beautiful and pretty!

One of my favorite times is when we read together at night before bed.  What, have we been through 10 books together?  I love it!

Thank you for being such a great sister!  For dancing with me, and crying with me, and laughing with me.  Love you so much!  *hugs*  I hope 14 is a fantastic year for you. :)

P.S.  My computer's messing up again. :-P  So that's why not all of these pictures are watermarked.

Good-bye Break!

Hi!  It's good to be back!

I'm waving at you all through my computer screen!  Haha, I literally did. ;D

I had a really good two week break.  I will admit, though, I had to break it a couple times to get on facebook.  I had to contact some people.  It was with my parent's permission though!  I wasn't like rebelling or anything.  Hehe ;)  But, I was really kinda proud of myself.  I stayed off blogger the whole time. :)

So, what'd I do for two weeks with zero to very limited Internet access?  ....
  • Annie's birthday!  She turned 14 on the 2nd.  (Her b-day post will be coming soon.)
  • Reading.  I finished two books over the break and I'm almost done with a third.
  • Writing.  I'm really glad I was able to write these past two weeks.  My sister and I even did some brainstorming and came up with new cool ideas for my story. :)
  • School & work.  Eh.  The not so fun stuff, but I was able to concentrate on them better.
  • Hanging out with friends.  On Tuesday we went to the movies and on Friday we had a cook-out party at my house.  It was SO much fun!
Well...I must conclude my little post now.  Today also happens to be finals day at school.  So I gotta go study.
It's good to be back.  I'll write soon. :)
