Sweet Dreams & Wet Hair

Ok, I have a story. ;) Prepare to enter into the random world of Katie...

I have work this morning at the hospital. This means getting up early. Around 6:30. So, I get up this morning...and get in the shower. Wash my hair. I'm tired, which is pretty much the norm. When I am in the shower I realize my alarm didn't go off this morning. I just woke up. I need to go turn off my alarm clock before it wakes someone up, because it's probably blasting right now (I have a radio alarm clock). When I walk back in my room after my shower, though, it's quiet. Then, I look at my clock. 1:30 in the morning.

Has anybody ever done that? Dreamt that you were running late and supposed to be up but it was actually really early in the morning? Well, let's just say I felt pretty stupid. And, went back to bed. Hehe ;)

There ya go...blond moment of my life.

Adopted

I spent the past week at church camp. It was amazing! Though it would be cool, I think it's probably impossible to put down everything that happened. So, I'll do the highlights. :)

Here are some pictures of us at the lake:

Annie blobbed for missions! So, she was blobbed by a...big guy... (Is there a nice way to say that?) and went flying!

Me getting blobbed.

This is Zach getting blobbed by Dad.
One of the things we learned through the week was to "Go Beyond". The way they explained this was to combine your burden with your passion and go beyond yourself. Having God work through you to do something awesome for Him. This is something I want to challenge myself to do. To "Go Beyond" with my music. To share my story. To help people.

This week's camp was called "Adopted". We learned about how, as Christians, we are adopted into God's family. One thing that really hit me this week was my dad. Being grateful for my earthly father. I have some friends who don't have an active earthly dad in their lives and I see how that hurts them. I love these girls! And I feel like I can't do anything about their situation. On the last night I broke down and went and prayed with my dad. He hugged my sister and me and told us how proud he was of us. I became extremely thankful for my dad then. I have always known that he loves me and cares for me. And some people don't know that about their dad.

Our leaders told us this, one night this week: If you have a great earthly dad who cares for you or one that doesn't, you will always have a Heavenly Father. Because dad's, even the great ones, are going to fail. God will never let you down.

How does this hat look on me?

I got a chef hat today! :-)

At work today I was in the kitchen. I get to work there a lot, which I like. It's one of my favorite places to go. I work with the chef sometimes...and did today. Chef Adam. He gave me my new hat. Which I think is pretty cool! He also asked if I would put it on my blog. lol So, I thought I would.

Today, also, Momma came and ate lunch with me. It was a lot of fun! She got to meet Chef Adam and I showed her around some. Pretty neat. :)

I've gotta get now...singing out. Will post soon.

Beauty Is Back!

Thought I'd go more random tonight...lol Beauty is our truck. The one that was in the car accident. She's been in the body shop for about two weeks and we brought 'er home today. Yay! Our big truck has spoiled us so much! We've had four rentals. lol This is because we've had to trade in one after another looking for a bigger one. And still, when we finally got a bigger one, whoever was in the back seat literally had to crawl over the middle seats. It's been an adventure. :)

As you can see, we name our vehicles. We started that, oh, several years ago. We've had Chicken & Fries, Polar Bear, Gramps, Old Blue, Mighty D...possibly more. And each one has a story behind it's name, too. That's one of the many fun things about getting a new car. "What are we going to name it?" Hehe! I know it seems childish, but it's so much fun! ;)

If you happen to name your vehicles, like we do, I'd love to here about 'em. So, comment away, if you wish!
