Remember

"We will remember, we will remember, we will remember the works of Your hands.  We will stop, and give You praise, for great is Thy faithfulness."

I'm doing a lot of remembering right now.

Today is the 10th anniversary of 09/11.  I was only seven back in 2001 so I don't remember much about it, but even though that's the case for me, it's something to look back on.  I'll be keeping the families that lost loved ones in my prayers.

I'm also remembering the life of my grandfather.  He went to be with Jesus Saturday morning.  If you think about it, my family and I would greatly appreciate your prayers.

What are you remembering these days?

"Specky"

^This is a new word...that I had the pleasure of making up myself. ;) Here's what it means:

Specky- Pretty small in the grand scheme of life. Like a speck in comparison.

Mom, my brother Zach, and I were riding home after a meeting with a consultant at the college the other night. We went over what each of us would be doing next semester and so on. Thinking about the large work load I was going to be getting in the next year left me pretty stressed and worried. Zachary was also stressed about an oral presentation (his first) he had to make in the coming week. Mom stopped us there and said, "You know, if you really think about it, these worries are like a speck compared to the rest of your life and the whole grand scheme of things." (Hence, my new word. lol) I thought, "Wow, is that right or what?"

A lot of the time, at least in my life I know, the things I spend time worrying and stressing over are pretty small...and specky.

Now, I want to direct your attention to a friend of mine. This is Emily:

Emily's Cancer Blog :: Pray for Emily
She's 16 years old and has leukemia. I've been following her blog for about a month and a half now. I heard about Operation: Combat and decided to participate in the fast that a fellow blogger started for Emily. I've been fasting from facebook for a little over 2 weeks or so now and praying for her.

Friday I found out Emily had liver failure. She's in ICU right now. When something like this happens...I don't know...everything else just seems to shrink and become very small. Specky.

I want to ask you (if you haven't already been) to pray for Emily. Even though I've never met her in person, Emily has become very dear to me...as I know she has to many of you. :) So, please keep her in your prayers. Thank you!
