i'm a romantic.

I had the idea for this post laying in bed a few nights ago.  This may sound really strange, but go with me for a few minutes.

You know those moments when you walk by something, or do something, or watch something happen and just think, "That could totally fit right into a black and white movie or an old classic."?  Something that's unique...something that maybe reminds you of days past?  I think that those moments are special.  Romantic even.  These are just a few things that make me think...yes, I am a romantic.

wind blown curls
cursive writing
enjoying the fact you have to walk through the rain
old books
reading in a coffee shop...while drinking coffee of course
handwritten letters
flowers tucked into locks of hair
book stores
finding happiness in the smallest of things
packages in the mail with your name on them
unique sunglasses
splashing in a rain puddle

It's a beautiful world out there.  Don't miss it.

Any fellow romantics out there?

this and that

Whoa.  It's been a week and a half since I've posted.  I'm sorry for suddenly disappearing on you all without any warning.
So...after rewriting this a couple times, here are my thoughts.  I think that every blogger comes to a point when they realize they may be blogging because they feel like they have to.  That time is now for me.  I want to blog because I want to, not because I feel like I need to.  With that in mind, you may see a little less of me on here.  Or I could go back to writing as normal.  I'm not real sure yet.  I do plan on stickin' around, though. ;)

Okay!  With that said and done...here's a bit of random to brighten the mood. ;)

{pinterest}
Oh yeah.  I now have a pinterest.  And guess who's addicted?  That's right.  This girl is.  Anybody else out there suffering from a pinterest addiction?

I really want to see this in theaters!

The end.

{winter jam}
Winter Jam is coming up and I'm really excited!  There are some really amazing artists coming this year.  It's gonna be great!  Anybody else planning on going or have already gone?

Hope you all have a super weekend!

Bye for now.

Who is Me?

Me is someone who changes often.  Me looked very different at the start of this blog than she does now.  A good different, I hope.
Me is someone who loves pumpkin spice candles. Whose style is a mix between cute and weird.  Someone who loves laying in her bed with a good book and soft music playing in the background.  Me is someone who has best friends she's never met in person...some of whom don't exist but in book form.
Me is someone who is quiet to many people.  But behind the scenes, she'll dance and skip and sing into her curling iron when she thinks no one's looking (with the exception of this dear one).
Me is someone that is in love with her Jesus. She realizes that her life would be a lot different if it wasn't for Him. It's a great thing to know Someone's always looking out for you, isn't it?

Me is someone who has learned so much about books she's never read by being around them everyday.  She's a girl who loves her job.  But who knows what the future has in store?  Me knows Someone who does.
I am Me.  Who are you?

P.S. I got a bit of a spur of the moment hair cut the other day.  I, personally, love it.  Thoughts?  (I know there isn't a real good picture showing the length in this post...will try to post more soon.)

P.P.S. My computer is currently out of commission.  That is why my watermark is absent.

Looking Back at 2011

Can you believe it?  2011 is over.  2012 is already upon us.  My 2011 certainly had its downs...but also most certainly had its ups.  No, I didn't finish everything I set out to accomplish.  But I ended up doing so much...things not in my original plan.  Overall I'd count 2011 as a good year.  Here are just a few highlights:

{in january...}
--My daddy gave my sister and me his old Canon.  It's a great thing having a photographer as a dad.

--I bought my first Owl City album.

{in february...}
--I got an electric fiddle.  Electric.  Love.

--My baby brother, Logan, turned eleven.

--And my bigger than me little brother, Zachary, turned fifteen. ;)

{in march...}
--I turned seventeen.  And had a pretty great birthday.

{in april...}
--My best friend, Annie Beth, who also happens to be my sister (what a great coincidence) turned fourteen.

{in may...}
--I passed my state nursing test and became a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).  Whoa.  What a blessing.

--We threw a surprise birthday party for my amazing mother.

{in june...}
--I went to Crossings Camp with my youth group.

{in july...}
--I went on my Chrysalis flight.  (One amazing youth retreat.)
--I got my license!  Watch out world. ;)

{in august...}
--I got my job at the library.  Again, one super blessing.

--I became a senior in high school

{in september...}
--My grandpa went to be with Jesus.

{in october...}
--I saw the ocean for the very first time.  And what a sight it was.  Just beautiful.

{in november...}
--I had my first Starbucks coffee.  Ah.  Love.

{in december...}
--I celebrated one very merry Christmas.

2011 was a year of change for me.  And I expect 2012 to be one as well.  I'm growing up.  There's no stopping it.  But I think I've realized how to live in the moment.

The other day I realized something.  At this very moment, I'm living in a once in a lifetime day.  January 2, 2012 at 10:53 pm will never happen again.  Ever.  Life for today...for right now.  And have a wonderful 2012.
