Picture Contest Entry

I follow Life is too Short Not to Wear Red Shoes and read about her photo contest. I wanted to enter some pictures that I took and edited. So...here goes. :)

#1: I edit all of my pictures on picnik.com. On this picture I used the b/w effect and then cross process.

#2: I did this one quite a while ago so I'm not positive on all the effects I used. I do know that I used a drop shadow and the Lomo-ish effect though. :)

#3: I enhanced the colors here. And used the Orton-ish effect.

Check out Polka Dot's blog here. You're sure to love it. :) And also, you can go enter her contest. The winners are chosen on Nov. 2nd...so hop to it. ;)

P.S. {Note: I changed out the picture of my brother and me because I suddenly realized that I did not take it...my dad did. (Duh...I was in it. :P Should have figured that out sooner, Katie. Hahaha!) So, it is now replaced. ;) Sorry about that.}

Fall Break, Part 3: Concert

The big finale to our vacation was... *drum roll*...a Matthew West and Josh Wilson concert!! It was so great! Also, a little info: Matthew West is sorda like...my favorite musician ever. ;) So, just ask Annie, I was squealing with excitement and squeezing her arm when he came out on stage. Haha!

Josh Wilson:

Josh Wilson started the show. He was really great! He didn't have a band with him so he did a one man band thing. He had this cool gadget where he could play something, record it right on the spot, and then play it back. Really neat!

Matthew West:
Matthew West was really awesome! The first part of the concert, he played several of his hit songs. He came out at the beginning rocking out to "The Motions." ;)

{Sorry the pictures are kinda blurry.}

The second part of the concert was called "The Story of Your Life." I don't know if any of you heard about what Matthew West did with his newest album. He stayed in a cabin for 2 months and asked his fans (or anybody) to send in 'the story of their life'. He based every song on his new album on someone's story. Pretty neat! I actually sent in my story to him. Along with 10,000 other people. There was one part in the show where numbers on the projection screen counted all the way up to 10,000. I was sitting in my seat thinking, "I'm one of those numbers. That's me up there."

After the concert I was very excited to find out that Matthew West was going to be out signing autographs. So, we waited in line to meet him. When we got up near the front I leaned over to Mom and said, "I am two people away from my favorite musician." ;)
When it was our turn we walked up and I gave him a CD to sign and told him my name. Then I told him that I had sent him my story. He said, "I read your story." That was really cool to hear! I mean, I knew that he had read it. He read all of them. But to hear that...it was cool! On our way out, he nudged me and told me thanks for sending my story. It was awesome!

So, that's the last part of our fall break vacation. It was the biggest vacation we've been on in a really long time. We all had a great time!
Thanks for coming along on my trip through my blog. I hope you enjoyed it. :)
The End

Fall Break, Part 1: Museums

Over fall break we went on vacation (which we're actually still on...I'm in our hotel room as we speak). I thought I'd share with you, my wonderful followers, what we've been up to. So, here we go...

Corvette Museum:

Annie, Zachary, Logan, and Me

This is me in the driving simulator. Pretty neat!

A Corvette! ;)

Yeah...I'm thinking of investing in one of these. ;)

Creation Museum:

Yep...that's Logan for ya.

They were jumping. The little stinkers. ;)
So...that's what we've got for now. But, there's more to come! Promise. :)

To be continued...

In Awe

In Sunday School yesterday my teacher asked this question: "When was the last time you were in awe of God?"

This is when I'm in awe of God...

When I look around me at all the beautiful things He's made.

When I'm on stage praising Him. Because I know that I couldn't do it without Him.

When I'm with my friends. God has blessed me with a great group of girls who share the same morals and beliefs as I do. I know they love me...for who I am.

These are a few things that put me in awe of God. What are yours? When was the last time you were in awe of God?

P.S. My brother posted something like this on his blog not too long ago. You can check it out here: http://http//pause4jesus.blogspot.com/2010/10/in-awe-of-god.html

Katie's Money Management

A while back I realized that keeping all my money in my wallet just wasn't working very well. It's way too easy to spend it! (For me anyway...lol) So...I thought up a solution! And thought I'd share it with you all. :)

This is now my new savings envelope. I thought I'd decorate it and make it a little more fun to save money. ;)

Because I have a bit of a hard time keeping my money out of a store's cash register and in my savings I thought I'd better write myself a little note...

Better make it two. ;)
I want to save up to one day sponsor a child through World Vision (http://http//www.worldvision.org/#/home/main/help-change-a-childs-life-today-1-1119) so that is what this envelope is for.
So...my plan is to take a little out of my pay check every month and put it in my envelopes. And, hopefully, I'll be able to save up some money for something down the road. :)

New Look

Hi all! Well...I decided to do a little makeover on my blog, as you can probably see. ;) I hope you like it! I know I do. A big thanks to my good friend Danielle over at "My Life" Author: God who was a great help! Don't you love having friends with technical knowledge when you don't possess any? ;)

Danielle also introduced me to Shabby Blogs which is where my background and several of my accessories came from. If you're looking at re-doing your blog, I recommend them. They have some really cute stuff.

Anyway, if you'd like you can skip on over to the side bar and vote on my poll about the new design. Thanks you all! Have a blessed weekend!
