The Rebelution

Daddy, Zachary, and I were able to go to a Rebelutionary conference today. Wow. I've gotta say, it was amazing! They are led by 21 year old twin brothers. Alex and Brett Harris. This is their website...I encourage you to check it out. :) http://http://www.therebelution.com/ Here are some things I learned:

Rebellion + Revolution = Rebelution
Teen rebellion against low expectations.

They spoke about how our generation of teenagers are shackled by low expectations. If you look back in history you'll find that "teenagers" didn't even exist. There were children and adults. In fact they shared that the word "teenager" wasn't even used until 1941. That's less than 70 years ago. And, what's more, is that most of the kids our age back then had adults responsibilities. So, what's changed? It's not like the people then were super geniuses or anything. They were normal, like you and me. What's changed, as Alex and Brett say, are the expectations.

As the day progressed, Alex and Brett started challenging us. They talked about doing hard things. Raising our expectations. Stepping out of our comfort zones. Doing the teen years differently; for the glory of God!

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12
