Hold on to your dreams...don't ever let go.

-I bought a new pair of sunglasses.  Don't worry...I didn't lose or break my other ones.  (Score!)  I just saw these at Target and pretty much fell in love.  I may be a little obsessed....just a little. ;)

-I love my new job!  Like seriously love.  I am so blessed!
-I've been listening to Addison Road a lot here recently.  I really like their "Stories" album.  I think my favorite song is this one... (My post title includes some of the lyrics.)

-I'm a senior this year!  Whoa!  I'm really excited!  And guess what...I have my first senior meeting with my senior class to discuss senior-y things next month.  I'm pumped!  (And yes I did just fit the word senior into a sentence three different times.  Haha!)
-Bokeh has quickly become one of my fascinations.  I love it!  {Side note: I obviously totally missed my face in this photo so ignore that...I'm showing it because of the beautiful bokeh. <3}
-If you would please do me a favor and check out a one of my good friend's blogs I'd truly appreciate it...
Emily has a really great ministry and I know she'd be tickled if you checked it out.
-Whoa...what do you all think of the new blogger?  It's pretty different!  I don't know my thoughts on it yet...still trying to get used to it.
-I believe this is all for now...I hope you enjoyed my little list of things.  Have a great rest of your Wednesday.

The End

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

It feels like I haven't done this in forever.  But I had a lot of fun this week with these prompts!  So, without any further delay...

1.
{old and new}
Can one be old and new at the same time?  That's kind of how I feel right now.  Like an old kid and a brand new (almost) young adult. :)

2.
{night photography}

3.
{music}
I was between two photos for this prompt.  This one and a self portrait (like the suggestion).  I finally decided this one was my favorite.  It's my CD collection.

4.
{cheesy}
Tehe ;) My cutie, smiley, little brother.

{A Photo} Challenge

5.
{sun}
I really love how this photo turned out!

Good-bye dear followers!

The Lion King: A Musical

"A musical?  Really?"

^This kinda sounded like me a couple days ago.  I had no idea that "The Lion King" was a Broadway show.  Until I accidentally checked out the soundtrack for the musical (thinking it was the movie's) from the library.  I immediately became interested.
I grew up on this movie.  It is so special to me.  And, plus, I genuinely love it.  So, to google I went. ;)
...and found out that the musical is playing 4 hours from where I live next August-September.  Oh.  My.  Word.  I jumped up!  And then set back down to print it out...  And then jumped up again to show my mom. ;)  And you know what...there's actually a chance I can go and see it with my dad!  Talk about excited!
So, that would be my joy moment for the week. ;)  What about you?  Any big things going on recently?

P.S. None of these photos are mine.  I got them off Google Images.

Picture Wheel

Recently I've been working on a little project and I took pictures along the way so I could share it with you all. :)

A while ago, one of my mom's bike wheels got bent up.  Long story short, she has to buy a new one and the old, bent up one can't be fixed.  So I asked if I could have it.

Now you may be wondering what in the world I'd want with a bent up, old bike wheel.  Well, I'd be more than happy to show you!

Ok...here's my subject for experiment. ;)

Tehehe!

I washed it with the hose real good first, just to get all the dirt and dust off.

Then I went out and bought some spray paint.  Green to match my room.
{Side note: If you happen to do this yourself, and you're under the age of 18, you may need to take your mom or dad with you to get spray paint.  At least I did. :)}

I found this paint in my basement.  We actually used it to paint the baseboards in my bedroom last year.  The white part of my wheel had a lot of skid marks on it that I couldn't get off so I decided to paint over it.

It's a good idea to use a drop cloth...

...and painter's tape.
{Another side note: My handy dandy brother, Zach, got the tire off of the wheel for me and it was a lot easier to paint that way!}

Tada!  My finished product!  My dad and brother helped me mount the wheel to my bedroom wall.  Then I got a bunch (between 10 and 12) of my photos printed and paper clipped them to the spokes.

I really like how it turned it!

So, that's my newest addition to my room.  Have you been working on any projects or crafts lately?

The Sky is Blue

I got me a new pair of sunglasses folks!  And I'm really loving them. :)

I needed them because *cough, cough* I lost my other ones....

But, on the very bright side, these were only $5 at Walmart, I quite like them a lot, and I have yet to misplace them!  *cheers*

P.S. I asked my family to blurt out something random for my post title...and my dad gave me 'the sky is blue' so that is why this post is randomly titled the sky is blue. ;)

Yes, I'm still here.

I apologize about my recent unexplained disappearance.  We spent this past week doing a major cleaning and decluttering of our house in preparation for the new school semester and decided that we'd do another technology break to help keep us focused.

I actually didn't mind it much.  Surprising, I know. ;)  But it was actually kind of neat.  Here...I'll explain why.

We didn't have our iPods, CD players, or radios.  Our solution?  We made our own music.  While we cleaned, we'd sing.  Acapella.

We didn't have our computers or wii so we played board games and cards in our free time.

I didn't have blogger or facebook so I did a lot of reading in my free time.

I didn't have e-mail, so I wrote letters to my pen pal.  I <3 mail.

But, none the less, it's good to be back.  I missed you all.

A couple of things before I hit the 'publish post' button... ;)
  • I didn't take many photos this week, but, thankfully, weheartit came through for me.  All the pictures in this post are from that website.
  • Only three more followers 'til the big 100!  When we reach that, I'll be having a photo contest with prizes to celebrate so you be on the look out for that and feel free to spread the word.
Have a lovely Sunday!

Blessings,

I am a book lover.

I am a book lover.

And I've been told by people before that if I wasn't set out to be a nurse then I'd be great working in a library.

So, this summer, I decided to send in an application to the public library in my city.

On Thursday I got a call.  When the person on the other end said, "You've got a job" I knew I was blessed.

Why?

Because I have the opportunity to not only pursue one, but two careers that I love.

My Online Mission

"Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life.  Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope." --1 Peter 3:15

My mom, sister, and I started a new daily devotional together out of a small magazine called Devozine.  Last night started the first one and I really loved the message.  It talked about having an online mission.

Sometimes, as a home schooler, I worry that maybe I'm too sheltered.  That maybe, if I went to a public/private school I could have witnessed to more people because I'd be around more people on a daily basis...?  Does anybody else ever feel that way?

What I didn't really realize until last night was that I am already in a HUGE mission field.  Right here on the internet.

Did you know that nearly a third of the entire world's population is online?  1,966,514,816 people.  When I saw that number in the devotional book it blew me away!

I'm not saying that a third of the world reads my blog.  Far from it, I'm sure.  Haha!  But, I'm sure people do stumble across it sometimes...just like I stumble across other sites on the web.  What do people see for the short time they're on my site?

What kind of example do I set?

Am I making a difference in the mission field that God has placed me in?

I hope so.
